Los Fresnos CISD celebrated its inaugural class of inductees into the Athletic Hall of Honor on Saturday, December 6. This event took place at the newly constructed Los Fresnos CISD Performing Arts Center.
This ceremony gave recognition to previous Falcon student-athletes who have paved the way for others by exhibiting not only athletic success, but also by being a true leader on and off the field. Some inductees are still very involved in their athletic careers, such as Jeremy Springer, Los Fresnos High School alumni and current Special Teams Coordinator for the NFL’s New England Patriots.
The full class of 2025 included the 1964 football team, the 2014 volleyball team, Corina Cox, Leonel Garza, Javier Medina, Cathi Netemeyer, Jeremy and Justin Springer, and Coach Scott Ford.
Senior Camila Elizondo was especially excited to hear about this ceremony and see her cousin get recognized as an inductee as part of the 2014 volleyball team.
“It is so cool to see past Falcon athletes getting acknowledged for all of the work they have put in,” Elizondo said.
Social Studies Teacher Ms. Gaytan was also thrilled to see such a great representation of the athletes hard work and dedication.
“This was an amazing way for the district to share their appreciation for our former athletes and coaches,” Gaytan said.
