The University Miami and Indiana University are set to play in the NCAA Football National Championship game tonight at 6:30 PM at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in one of the most anticipated games of the season. Both teams battled through the 12-team playoff to reach this point, and their dreams of going home with a Nationals championship is just four quarters away. Adversity has been a big role in both of their seasons and without a doubt, it will be present tonight.
Led by star quarterback and Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza, Indiana is averaging 42 points per game, which ranks second in the nation. Indiana is able to build momentum on offense quickly, especially when their defense makes a huge stop. Indiana will be aiming to complete a perfect 16-0 season with a win tonight.
Miami is going into the game with home field advantage playing at Hard Rock Stadium. Although their offense averages over 30 points per game, they are known for their defense, which ranked 11th in the nation in points allowed per game.
As Monday night creeps in, both schools have been seen doing their traditions daily to ensure that they have all the support needed for the deciding game. It will be one play that decides the outcome of the game for both teams. They need to be able to execute on all parts of the game with no margin for error.
This is what College football is about. The anticipation, the school pride, traditions, and celebrations. Everyone will be watching to see who comes out on top and hoists the most precious trophy in College football.
Some Falcons are eagerly anticipating watching the game tonight.
“I’ve got Indiana winning it all tonight,” said junior Tyler Stachowiak. “I like the way they play simply because they are not scared to get physical and that matters a lot in these types of games. It’ll come down to who plays tougher and makes fewer mistakes, that’s the team that will get the win.”
Junior Gabriel Garza is predicting Miami to win.
“Honestly I think that Indiana is a very disciplined team, but Miami is more physical so I think that they will take it,” Garza said. “Something that really stands out from this matchup is how disciplined Indiana is. My first thought when I think about this match up is how competitive and how much energy both teams bring. I think it’ll be a great match up but I think Miami will take it home tonight.”
