The 2025-2026 Falcon golf season is officially over after competing at regionals up in San Antonio.
This season was full of records and wins both as a team and individually. The girls and boys team both won the 32-6A District Title, only the second time in school history both teams won it the same year.
Two players were able to sign their LOI to play at the collegiate level. Avy Martinez signed to play at Macalester College in Minnesota and Felix (Levi) Bennett signed to play at Concordia University. Both of these players were four-year varsity players and now they get to live their dream of playing at the next level.
After finishing second in district last year, junior Jay Gomez had that push to go out and be the best he could be.
“Losing last year made us want to win even more to show what we can do,” Gomez said.
Junior Annalise Molina believes that improving her game not only helps her but the whole team.
“I keep pushing because of my team,” Molina said. “I want to get better not just for myself but for them too. It’s all about leveling up my skills and always striving to improve. That drive is what keeps me going.”
She has learned many lessons these past few years but an important one is patience.
“The biggest lesson golf has taught me is patience,” Molina said. “Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and you just have to stay calm, focus, and keep trying. It’s all about keeping your cool and trusting the process, no matter what” said Molina.
The team will start preparing for next year to go out and try to win the gold ball again. The girls team will be aiming to win their 10th district title in a row, while the boys will be looking to repeat as district champions for the first time in school history.
