On May 21, the Los Fresnos Falcons will be soaring into summer and many students are going to have different plans that reflect their interest.
Some students are applying for jobs to make a little extra money, while others are going to go on a vacation somewhere. Some may also focus on their academic enrichment, or their sport. Others might relax and enjoy their break as much as they can spending time with family, friends, etc. Each plan is shaped by a personal goal and circumstances.
During the summer, the Falcons host different camps for the students that can help them achieve their goals. To illustrate, baseball, volleyball, Basketball, and football host different camps for athletes that can help express their skills to coaches and will also help make them and the team better. The school also does summer programs for students who want to achieve their academic goals, complete TSI, and get ahead in classes. Not only will students get to relax during the summer break, but they will also have an opportunity to do other activities that the school has provided them with.
Sophomore Amariz Hernandez shared her plans for the summer.
“My summer plans include an internship at Rice University, where I’ll learn about new medical techniques,” Hernandez said. “I’ll also attend cheerleading practices with my fellow cheerleaders and participate in as many cheer camps as possible. Additionally, I plan to work part-time as a sales associate at Buckle.”
Sophomore Andres Gamez will have a busy summer.
“I will be travelling the world this summer and I also will be attending as many college baseball camps as possible trying to achieve my goal of getting offered to play for the sport that I love,” Gamez said.
