As the second semester nears its end and graduation gets closer, many seniors are faced with the responsibility of deciding their futures. Decisions are made on what students are doing after high school, if they are accepted to their target colleges, and how they are planning out their futures.

One of the biggest challenges seniors face is narrowing down their options. After months of applications, essays, and waiting, acceptance letters begin to arrive, bringing both relief and new stress. Choosing a college is not just about prestige; it involves considering financial aid, campus culture, academic programs, and distance from home. For many students, this whole process can feel overwhelming, but it ends in rewarding results that prepare them for their futures.

Social studies teacher Mr. Gonzalez has guided many students with the application process. He encourages many seniors to strive for their goals, even if they seem unrealistic.

“I’m excited to see the kids strive for success,” Gonzalez said. “It’s great to see so many students reach greater heights and start the next phase of their lives.”

Senior Christopher Rivera is looking forward to attending Texas A&M this fall. He stated that the application process was challenging but rewarding. 

“It was stressful applying to Texas A&M,” Rivera said. “I’m definitely looking forward to continuing my education and seeing my hard work pay off.”
