Dune 2, a sequel to Dune, has been released recently on March 1st, 2024.

Dune is a sci-fi movie series adapted from a novel that is about a young nobleman, Paul Atreides born into a destiny above his understanding who travels the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the safety of his family and his people. 

In the distant future, the story of Dune begins as Lady Jessica and the ruler of planet Caladan, Duke Leto Atreides, bear a child who is later shown to be Paul Atreides. The story continues to show the young life of Paul and how he adapts to life on Arrakis, which is his family’s new dominion due to it carrying the life-extending source of melange. 

Dune 2 continues this plot line but adds onto Paul’s story as he unites with Chani and the Fremen to seek revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. In this movie, Paul carries a burden to make a choice between the fate of the universe and the love of his life. Paul must prevent a terrible future only he can foresee. 

Dune 2 has a whopping 94% on rotten tomatoes and its audience score stands at a 95%. One critic states, “Dune Part Two is a cinematic masterpiece that delves even deeper into the intricate universe crafted by Frank Herbert.” Another critic comments, “Dune Part 2 surpasses all expectations, delivering a breathtaking cinematic experience.”
