There are new clubs meeting every week around LFHS, meaning new opportunities to learn something new. One of the brand news clubs this year is the Crochet Club, where you will get to learn how to crochet and make different things like tote bags, blankets, stuffed animals, clothing and anything else you can think of with your imagination.
Crochet club was founded originally at Los Fresnos United with their sponsor at the time being Mr. Danielson, but now the LFHS Crochet Club is sponsored by theatre teacher Mr Cranick.
The president and co-founder of Crochet Club is Kiandra Esquivel, Hala Abusalim is the Vice President and co-founder, Alexa Gonzalez is the social media manager, Janie Sordia is the treasurer, Jazzmyn Bennett is the photographer, and Rebecca Loera is the secretary.
Crochet Club is planning some fun projects for Halloween. Members will learn how to crochet mini pumpkins then hide them around the school so when a student finds one and returns them to the theater they will win candy.
For Christmas, the Crochet Club are planning on learning how to crochet plushies/teddy bears to donate to children in need and to hospitals for children.
Crochet Club meets every Wednesday after school 4:30 to 5:45 in theater. The club also does giveaways to the people who follow their social media accounts. The Crochet Club Instagram and TikTok accounts can be found under “lfyarnballers.”
