Super Bowl Recap

The Super Bowl was the biggest sporting event of February and most friends and family were cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals as Joe Burrow was looking for his first Super Bowl ring. The Los Angels Rams were back in the Super Bowl for the second time in four years as quarterback Matthew Stafford was looking to also win his first ring. This was set up to be a very exciting game with both the Rams and Bengals having some of the most explosive players in the league.

After a couple of drives, the Rams opened the scoring with an Odell Beckham Jr. touchdown, and the ice was broken and it was time for Joe Burrow to get the wheels rolling and it was more of a defensive first half.

The moment many people were waiting for was the halftime show, starring Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige. I know I loved the show with each artist performing their most popular song and performing it to perfection.

Once the second half began, a huge non-call from the referee saw Burrow throw a touchdown to Tee Higgins when it looked like Higgins grabbed the facemask of Jalen Ramsey on the play. It was back and forth the rest of the game, but big-time players made big-time plays. On the one-yard line, Rams receiver Cooper Kupp lined up against Bengals cornerback Eli Apple, and Kupp won the matchup, scoring the go-ahead touchdown. The Bengals had one more chance to tie or win the game, but they came up short on a huge play from former Rams Defensive MVP Aaron Donald.

The Vince Lombardi trophy stayed in Los Angeles and a capped a storybook ending to an underdog season for the Rams.
