Abigail Chavez, Staff Writer

If the brownies from the box aren’t meeting your chocolatey needs, do not hesitate to try this simple brownie recipe. This recipe will only take a total of 35 minutes to prep and bake your brownies. Once you make these brownies from scratch, you will never want to eat boxed brownies again!

Ingredients

  • 10 tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup melted milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Tips

  • If you like dark chocolate, you can use semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate.
  • You can also leave out the whole chocolate chips from your recipe.
  • For smoother and easier cleanup, use a silicone spatula.

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line your 9×9 pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, pour your melted butter and whisk in your sugar until smooth.
  3. Next add your eggs and vanilla extract into large mixing bowl. Whisk for 1 minute.
  4. Whisk melted chocolate into the large mixing bowl.
  5.  Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  6. Next add and stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  7. Pour your batter into pan and smooth out with silicone spatula.
  8. Bake your brownies for 30 minutes.
  9. Once you have ensured that no batter is raw, let your brownies cool in pan for 30 minutes before slicing.

Carefully slice, add a scoop of ice cream on top, and enjoy your brownies. 🙂
