Elon Reeve Musk was born on June 28, 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa. He was born to a Canadian mother and South African father. Musk mostly lived with his father after they had divorced. Musk, regretted that decision as he has become distant from his father. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in economics and physics. He is now an engineer and entrepreneur, who co-founded Paypal and Spacex. He is also an investor in Tesla an electric car company.

Musk is planning to donate to schools in Cameron County and to downtown Brownsville for revitalizations. He is giving $20 Million to Cameron County and $10 Million to the City of Brownsville. Musk is hoping that with the beautification of the city, it will help bring future Spacex employees to the area. Another goal of the space entrepreneur is to eventually call the Brownsville area “Starbase”.

On March 30, 2021, Musk tweeted “Please consider moving to Starbase or greater Brownsville/South Padre area in Texas and encourage friends to do so! SpaceX’s hiring needs for engineers, technicians, builders and essential support personnel of all kinds are growing rapidly.”
