Are you part of the 50% of people in the United States that set New Year resolution goals? If so, do you actually follow through with your New Year goals? Your answer most likely maybe no as only fewer than 10% actually keep them. But that can be changed depending on the way you set them because achieving your New Year’s resolution is important to help you grow, give you motivation, learn new skills, improve yourself, and become a better you.

When people set goals they vary from person to person either big or small. They may be personal or goals for work, whatever it is there are a variety of types of goals you can set for yourself. When you set these goals make sure they are goals that are specific, attainable, and realistic if you want to reach them. There are many helpful methods to use to reach your resolutions and goals this year. First, you have to stop and visualize your goals and think about what your goal looks like and how it will be like once you reach it, by doing so will help you stay motivated and keep you committed. Begin by writing it down on a journal, piece of paper, most importantly your phone so you do not tend to forget about it because it is much more difficult to reach them if you can’t keep it memorized. You can also approach your goals by breaking them down into months and staying organized. Start off slow once you get used to it, you will have that strong mentality that you will achieve them. In other words, begin by doing small easy things that are part of your goal then continue to work your way up to it because it will be like a routine and your goals in your daily routines will increase the likelihood of being achievable. It will be less overwhelming and help you keep you on track. Keep in mind actions repeated over time become habits, habits are hard for most people to break and you can build on them more and more until you achieve your 2021 goals.

Always remember don’t ever give up and don’t be too hard on yourself, this will all be worth it in the end, and have fun with it too. When you come across a point where you want to give up, keep in mind that once you achieve them it will be your greatest accomplishment and that would make your 2021 a year to remember.
