Teen stress is a big issue in today’s society. Recent studies have shown that teens may develop more stress than adults. Stress is an unavoidable consequence of life. For some people, stressful experiences can contribute to symptoms such as depression, anxiety, fear, and sadness. There are many factors that lead into teen stress such as school, low self-esteem, family issues, relationships and/or friendships.
A very important factor of stress is school. School can cause a lot of stress to teenagers. Grades can act upon stress. Students may think that you always need good grades, parents can cause this or even just their own minds. Most kids stress because there parents have high expectations, others stress because they want to get into a good college. When they can’t rise up to that expectation, or during the process of meeting it, children may suffer from frustration, physical stress, aggression, and undesirable complexes.
Low self-esteems can as well cause teenagers a lot of stress. Now a days, teens are not happy with their bodies or the way they look. Having those negative thoughts about themselves can cause a great amount of stress, that can lead to depression. It is always helpful to have a person around that will make you feel better about yourself, for example friends and family.
In conclusion, stress is a universal bodily and psychological process that we all experience. Each day stress builds up in a teenager’s life, which can be negative as this carries into their adulthood. Stress in a teenagers life can cause health problems like anxiety and depression. It is always best for a person’s health to always have a good friend or family member around, so they can help relief part of their stress.
