Los Fresnos CISD will celebrate its fifth annual Biliteracy night on November 6 at Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium.
Biliteracy night is an event where that promotes literacy among families, and is open to all grade levels. The purpose of this event is to promote Bilingual Literacy to our students it lets them get to hear different stories in both English and Spanish.
The Los Fresnos TAFE club will be attending with eight members attending, and they will be reading the book “The Paletero Man” and they will be giving out free popsicles.
“The Paletero Man” is about a boy who travels through his neighborhood on a hot day and is in search of the Paletero Jose. Once he arrives and makes his selection he realizes that his money is gone, luckily his friends noticed that it had fell when he was running. In the end the Paletero gives free paletas for all in celebration of kindness.
TAFE Sponsor, Ms.Ida Garcia says that people should come to help promote literacy.
“People should come because we want to help promote not just bilingual literacy but literacy in general,” Garcia stated
TAFE member Luenne Rodriguez encourages people to attend the event to celebrate the culture infusion.
“Everyone should come to literacy night because it’s a night of culture infusion, you get many experiences out of this and all around it’s fun being around people sharing the same experiences,” Rodriguez said
