This year’s “Teacher Appreciation Week” was celebrated on May 5-May 9 across the nation, including LFCISD.
Every year Teacher Appreciation is celebrated to honor the work that teachers put in and the patience they have dealing with all types of kids. Teachers successfully teach students lessons and this is the time of year to show the impact they’ve made on their students.
Students are able to give back to the teachers this whole week with small gifts to show their appreciation. High School students from Los Fresnos have shared their thank yous to their teachers along with how they will give back.
Sophomore Kaly Salas, is in wrestling and appreciates her coach, Coach Gomez.
“He is a great coach along with his humor, he always lifts you up when you’re down,” Salas said. “This week I hope he can see how he inspired me to be a great team player with all the presents and notes he receives.”
Sophomore Elizeth Mendez has a career path in law enforcement and and is very grateful for her teacher Mr. Reyes.
“I want to thank Mr. Reyes for being understanding and showing how the real world is,” Mendez said. “I hope he enjoys his gift cards from his favorite places.”
Although this week is dedicated to teachers, this is your reminder to be kind to all of them year round and thank them for the work they do.
