The 2025 Los Fresnos High School prom will be taking place on Saturday, April 26, at 7:00pm at the Brownsville Events Center.

To purchase tickets you can stay after school from Tuesday through Friday after school in the cafeteria. For single tickets the tickets will be $40 and for couples the price will be $60. If you have paid your senior dues, you are automatically awarded a free single prom ticket. 

This year’s prom will be in a whole new setting for the first time in a while. 

Junior Class sponsor, Ruben Martinez talked about the process of how this year’s prom venue changed. 

“Everyone always asked me how come we never had it closer, and eventually we started asking around to see where or what hall would have an opening for us,” Martinez said. “One day I got a call from the Brownsville Event Center and they said they had an opening for April 26th and asked if we wanted to take it. I made sure I got it approved and talked to everyone I needed to and sure enough we said yes and took it.” 

Martinez said the Junior class were the ones to choose the theme all together.

“The junior class are the ones that come together and have all these different options that eventually comes down to a vote,” Martinez said. “This year’s prom theme they decided on a starry night.” 

Senior Jacky Barrera said she is looking forward to being with all her friends and their dates.

“We are all really close with each other and enjoy each other’s company,” Barrera said. “With it being one of the last big events of our high school year makes it even better.”

Barrera also said her emotions have been all over the place but is mainly excited for this bittersweet moment.

“We’ve all dreamt of this since we started high school,” Barrera said. “Now it just means we’re getting closer to the end of our high school years.”
