The best selling bookstore, Barnes and Noble is set to open at Brownsville’s Sunrise Mall, replacing the store ‘Waves’.
There is no date set for the opening, yet it’s expected to open in fall 2025. Construction for the bookstore will start in the beginning of May.
In previous years, citizens of Brownsville and the lower valley would have to drive an hour to McAllen to the closest Barnes and Noble, but the scheduled opening of Barnes and Noble in Brownsville will result in citizens having to drive minimal distance.
The bookstore consists of sections of various genres of books, toys, games, gifts, and physical media like DVDS and Vinyls. It will feature a café within the bookstore where customers have the opportunity to enjoy different drinks and pastries, while relaxing as they reads or converse.
