On Saturday, April 5, 2025, students from the LFHS ALU unit experienced a party of a lifetime as the LFHS HOSA chapters and S.M.A.S.H. club collaborated to create their very own prom.
As the school year comes to an end, exciting events such as prom draw near; however, not all students can participate. For this reason, the school’s HOSA chapters have decided to dedicate a dance for these students. During this day, the ALU students participated in fun activities and games, eat delicious food, and dance to their heart’s content.
Student volunteers will help set up the gathering and be in attendance during the dance. Additionally, HOSA and SMASH students were encouraged to donate prizes for the activities.
“I am excited to help with the ALU dance and have donated some prizes,” junior Josephine Longoria said. “ I helped with a previous event and picked out some prizes they would like too, and they seemed to really appreciate them.”
The event was projected to be much grander compared to the previous year, which was the first time it was conducted, which was considered to be a great success. This was stated by Mrs. Martinez, a HOSA advisor who has played a sizable role in making this event possible. Ultimately, this event was projected to be a gathering of fun as ALU students from previous years expressed how much they loved the event. With great hopes, this event was held to devote a day to the ALU students to have a magical day of their own.
