Falcon students, who have been partaking in AP classes throughout the school year, are currently finishing up the last units of their specific class. They’ve begun wrapping up last minute content of the class, in order to begin preparing for AP final exams that begin at the start of May.
Students have to finish enduring the entire content from the course, so they have available time to review and prepare for the final exams.
Final exams for AP students are a necessity to receive college credit, if they manage to pass the final exam with a three or higher. Students who score below a three or higher, don’t receive college credit, but will obtain credit for the course with a passing grade.
Estrella Mondragon, who is currently a freshman and taking the college course, AP Human Geography, feels very unprepared for the final exam because she’s barely understood the material and content covered within the class, since the beginning of the school year. Despite her struggles, she still plans to approach the exam properly prepared.
“I plan to approach this test with hopefully a full night’s rest and go through it calmly, and not freak out over little things that stress me out,” Mondragon said.
Because final exams are approaching, Mondragon has incorporated studying habitats and methods that are improving her understanding of the course and preparing her. Study methods she’s been utilizing are reviewing Quizlet flashcards and doing practice exams.
“I have dedicated each day to studying a different unit for the week before the exam,” Mondragon said. “I hope to attend every tutoring possible, while also watching Youtube videos and taking practice tests at home.”
