The Varsity Boys Basketball just wrapped up another amazing season, capped by winning another 32-6A District title.
The boys won their second consecutive title and eighth district title for head coach Marco Hinojosa. The boys won the bi-district title title with a win over Edinburg North. The season came to an end with a loss in the area round to the East Central Hornets.
Sophomore guard Evan Mchesney was grateful to the seniors.
“We had an amazing season due to the work ethics of the seniors,” McChesney said. “Even though it comes to an end with them, I’m glad it was this team.”
Senior guard Jude Barreda was sad for his career to end.
“The biggest thing for me was to make the most of every practice,” Barreda said . “I think the more the season passed the more it hit me that it’s the last season for me you know? So going in everyday with the thought of not taking it for granted.”
Head coach Marco Hinojosa was extremely proud of how this team turned out for them.
“The seniors have done a great job at expressing their leadership towards the younger group of kids,” Hinojosa said. “This was a remarkable season, and I am so glad to be able to teach these kids, and see them grow all the way through.”
