Space X launched its latest test flight of the Starship Rocket on November 19. It launched nearby at Starbase, Boca Chica Beach at 4 pm.
This marks the sixth test flight to boost the Starship out of the lower atmosphere on a sub-orbital flight. The S31 performed a landing flip and made a gentle splashdown in the Indian Ocean. The booster splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico.
Since this test happened at the end of fifth period on Tuesday, several students were able to see the launch.
Senior Cora Alvardo said she has seen the technology advance in the past few years.
“It’s cool to see our technology develop and have the different developments that we have now,” Alvarado said. “Compared to ten years ago, our technology has advanced so much, which is insane.”
Senior Stephany Gaytán was able to see the launch with her class by the softball field.
“I went to go see it and it was so packed with students, but once they launched it the smoke on the sky looked so pretty,” Gaytán said.
