Los Fresnos CISD hosted the 12th annual Leo Aguilar Foundation 5k/1 mile fun run on October 26. Families and friends, adults and kids, joined together to run either the 5k or 1 mile for a fun community event.
Teachers and coaches helped out with the community fun run as well as students from LFU and LFHS. Students in the high school student council were helping direct runners to the finish line back to the Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium at the Walmart sidewalk. High school students in clubs such as HOSA and DECA provided many games and activities with prizes to families after the 5k run.
Los Fresnos parent Elizabeth Hernandez enjoyed her first experience at the event.
“This was my first time participating in this event and it was pretty fun,” Hernandez said. “There were so many fun activities for my kids to participate in and it was overall just a really good experience. If anyone is considering doing it next year, I definitely recommend it.”
