The United States elected a new President on November 5, with Republican nominee Donald Trump set to return to office for his second term after defeating Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris.
The former President will become the 47th President and take office on January 20, 2025. Trump won nearly every “swing” state, with Arizona and Nevada still yet to be called. Trump won traditionally republican Texas handily, 56.3% to 42.4%
Several falcon students voted in the election for the first time, including seniors Michelle Rodriguez and Victoria Kellam. The seniors were split on who they supported.
Rodriguez cast her vote for Harris.
“She supports women’s rights,” Rodriguez said.
Kellam went the other way and voted for Trump.
“I voted for him because I feel like he has plans for the economy, and Kamala has been in office for so long and she hasn’t made her mark,” Kellam said.

I agree with Kellam, when Harris was being interviewed her commentary was questionable. Nothing personal but I would rather vote for someone who knows what their talking about. As well as the recent debate between the the vice presidents you can tell JD Vance was fluent to speak facts instead of opinions.
