The world famous restaurant chain Pizza Hut has recently opened a location in Los Fresnos. The new spot opened on October 1st, and is located at 1010 W. Ocean Blvd.

Los Fresnos residents previously had to travel between cities to purchase pizza from the popular chain, with the closest being in Brownsville and San Benito. Now, residents are able to pick up Pizza Hut straight from their home city, with the added bonus having more options for pizza restaurants. 

Founded in 1958, and with now over 19,000 locations worldwide including the United States, the chain quickly rose to being one of the top pizza chains alongside other national chains, such as Domino’s and Papa John’s. Los Fresnos residents are excited to have another option for a pizza restaurant, and to have this popular chain available.

Sophomore Mia Rodriguez said how she is excited about the new Pizza Hut.

“I feel good about it because you don’t have to drive too far to get Pizza Hut,” Rodriguez said. “I think I will get Pizza Hut because it’s easy and fast. I am really excited about it.”

Among all, most seem to be excited about having another option for pizza, mixed in with other national chains and local restaurants.

Freshman Biology teacher Ms. Poy said how she likes having another option for pizza.

“It’s a new restaurant to look forward to,” Poy said. “Having a Pizza Hut has brought more options for events like a date night. I enjoy the new options.”
