Los Fresnos’ annual homecoming week is here, beginning September 30-October 4 at both Los Fresnos High School and Los Fresnos United.
Monday kicks off the week with “Favorite Holiday,” in which students will dress up as their favorite holiday. Next will be “TMZ Tuesday,” where students will dress as their favorite celebrity. Wednesday will be a special “Reverse the Roles” day, a new day not seen in previous years. Students will dress up as teachers, while teachers will dress up as students. Thursday will be “Throwback Thursday,” in which students will be able to dress up as their favorite era. Ending the event on Friday will be the traditional “Falcon Pride,” where students will wear Maroon & Gold to encompass the spirit of Falcon pride for that evening’s football game against the Sharyland Rattlers. There will also be a homecoming pep rally at LFHS during 5th period on October 4.
Sophomore Gabriela Martinez said she is most excited for Wednesday’s “Reverse the Roles” day.
“I think it’s going to be fun to see what the teachers come up with and how they see us,” Martinez said.
Among all the students, one observation is clear, most are very excited about the upcoming homecoming week and its special themes for each night.
Sophomore Giovani Barrientos said how he thinks the annual homecoming week is a good opportunity to have a good time at school.
“I think my favorite event will be to dress as your favorite celebrity on Tuesday.” Barrientos said. “I’ll love to see who everybody’s favorite celebrity is and how they will mimic them.”
