On April 10, The Spanish Honor Society held a ceremony at the LFU cafeteria to congratulate all the new members who have shown an interest in the beautiful Spanish language. The new members were able to invite their family members to be a part of this amazing ceremony.
During the ceremony, seniors, the returning members, and new members were honored as they had taken a part in our amazing organization.
As the president of SHH, I would like to present the mission to prepare productive citizens that promote the continuity and interest in Hispanic language, literature, and culture in the community and around the world. Also, we want to recognize students for their high achievement in the Spanish language.
Our Sponsors were the ones that made it possible for the ceremony to take place. Without the help of Mrs. Arato and Mrs. Garza, we would have not been able to commemorate the hard work of the students that participate in SHH.
Our very own officers of SHH had a few words to share about the commemoration.
“The ceremony was a beautiful event that made me feel very proud of my culture,” Sophie Iracheta said.
“When extinguishing the flames on our candles, we ignited one stronger, kindled by the connection to our heritage,” Alejandra Coronado said.
“I loved seeing the new members becoming a part of our community,” Ivana Cortez said.
“This ceremony opened doors to the Hispanic culture within our community,” Brisa Alaniz said.
“I loved seeing how the members were able to feel the love that comes from being a part of the Hispanic community,” Noemi Pachecho said.
During the ceremony, the officers of this club, presented the audience with a quick presentation that was meant to show the audience what SHH is all about ,and how we have helped our community in the past.
Lastly, I would like to take a moment to thank the parents, tutors, and all family members who have taken the time to support us. Also our Principals Mrs. Pineda and Robert Stumbaugh, the counselors, LFU staff and custodians who helped us with this ceremony.
