Tips to help stay awake in class
Staying awake in class is important so you can stay out of trouble and you can attain all the information given to you. Since EOC’s and finals are coming up, here are some tips to help you stay awake in class.
- Go to bed early
If you go to sleep early, you are less likely to be tired in the morning. It depends what time you wake up, but you should get 8 or more hours of sleep to be fully rested.
- Bring a snack
If you bring a snack to class you will be eating the snack instead of falling asleep. Eating also helps you be more energized and more awake.
- Have good posture
If you sit up straight in class you are most likely to get sleepy since you are alert and not slouching. When we slouch we get too comfortable and that makes us sleepy.
- Participate
If you are participating and asking questions, you are less likely to fall asleep since you will be talking with the teacher and learning more about the lesson.
- Take notes
If you take notes during a lesson, you are more likely to remember the lesson and less likely to get tired and fall asleep. If you are writing notes you are too focused on writing down what you’re writing to fall asleep.
- Ask for a restroom break
You can take a quick restroom break and go wash your face with water or simply just standing up will make you less tired and less likely to fall asleep.
It is important to stay awake during school so you can learn and get stuff done. Now with all of these tips it is more likely for you to stay awake during class or testing.
