On March 28th, there was a career fair for students at Los Fresnos United. Many local businesses went to the campus and had presentations for students to inform students about how their jobs are and how they work.
There were policemen, employees from Texas Southmost College, employees from Beach Park, employees from Southern Careers Institute, and many other careers that students and teachers were able to learn about. The LFU dome where the fair was located was packed with freshmen and sophomores.
Albert Castillo, a sophomore at Los Fresnos United attended the career fair.
“I had fun learning about new jobs that are available to anyone if they are interested in it,” Castillo said. “My favorite career was for sure SCI because I want to be a welder and I know that they have a welding course at SCI. Other than the dome being packed and hardly being able to walk around, I still had fun.”
Diego Alaniz, a freshman at Los Fresnos United also attended the career fair and enjoyed it.
“I was with the police half the time throughout the career fair because the police officer was super chill and because he let me borrow the bullet proof vest and it was fun wearing it,” Alaniz said.
