I don’t know about you all, but I love to keep myself updated on all celebrity news. A couple of weeks ago, one of the biggest events in the entertainment world occurred with the 96th annual Academy Awards, known as “The Oscars, ” a ceremony that awards the outstanding movies that have come out over the past year. 

The ceremony took place on March 10th and it revealed the new Oscar winners of 2024. The Oscars have always been praised amongst actors and actresses, because they know how prestigious it is considered to earn an award like this. 

Some of the movies that were nominated and praised throughout the year were Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” and Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things.” Oppenheimer received a total of 13 nominations at the Academy Awards, while “Poor Things” received 11 nominations. 

Oscars fanatics were caught off guard by a significant moment at the awards. During the show, there was a heartfelt speech about the war in Ukraine, which then led straight to “I’m just Ken.” Fans found it out of pocket for this to have occurred at the Oscars, since these awards are truly about elegance and respect all around. 

It is nice to see that the film industry gets the recognition it deserves. We fans got to see amazing looks from all the actors and actresses, and were able to be introduced to the best movies not many of us knew about. Throughout these awards, we get to see how not only the people in front of the camera get recognized for their hard work, but also the people behind the camera.

Overall, it was pleasing to see that hard working people involved in the film industry get a reward for their hard world. Even though, there was controversy about this year’s award ceremony, I believe that it was a very entertaining work of art.
