On February 16-18, the Los Fresnos little rodeo was here and everyone was thinking about going and having fun and watching some bull riding. The week leading into the rodeo was going well until it started to rain heavily. The Rodeo parade got canceled and kids couldn’t go out and have fun watching the parade. Schools had been waiting for the parade and had everything prepared for everyone to go out and enjoy the moments. Due to the rain, the parade was moved to February 29, 2024. Many kids were finally be able to see the parade and have fun on a hot sunny day.
The days of the rodeo were muddy and wet. Many people were muddy but still had fun at the rodeo, while it was not as packed as the few years before.
Los Fresnos Teacher and Rodeo committee member Mr. Gonzalez detailed how the weather impacted the amount of people who attended.
“We were worried because the rodeo is a big money maker for Los Fresnos, and some people were scared that they would not have enough money to pay for all little league sports and they would not get some equipment due to the rodeo not being as packed as it was the previous years” Mr. Gonzalez said.
Sophomore Rene Gonzalez enjoyed the rodeo, despite the weather.
“It was fun and there were a lot of people from school that I saw,” Gonzalez said. “I had fun getting on the rides and seeing some bull riding and going to the concert of my favorite country singer Kevin Fowler. Even though it was muddy, I enjoyed getting my boots muddy and being with friends and family.”
