With spring break coming around the corner, I decided to interview fellow students from LFHS to see what other falcons are doing for our week off.
Senior Natalie Aleman planned to travel to Mexico
“My plans for spring break are to go to Valle Hermosillo, Tamaulipas to spend time with my grandma,” Aleman said. “Afterwards, we’re going to El Cielo, Tamaulipas. I’ve never been to El Cielo and it is really far away from the city. There is no service so we will be able to reconnect with nature for a few days.
Aleman said the visit to Mexico is a family tradition.
“I usually spend my spring break in Mexico with my family, ” Aleman said. “A memory that stood out to me was from last year, when my favorite cousin from Houston came to Valle to spend spring break with me and we rented a condo and stayed there for a couple of days. It was really fun”
Junior Sabella Ortiz, detailed her plans for the break.
“My plans for this spring break are going out of town, relaxing at home and spending time with my family, especially my sister,” Ortiz said. “She comes down every year for spring break from college and spends the whole week with us.”
Ortiz reflected on past spring breaks and expanded on her travel plans.
“I’m looking forward to spending my week at Canyon Lake to celebrate my birthday and my dads birthday,” Ortiz said. “Typically since spring break falls on my birthday so we would go out and celebrate but this spring break it isn’t falling on my birthday so I usually just stay in and binge watch shows or hang out with friends. One favorite memory I have from spring break is me, my sister and her friends going to the beach and camping out. It’s a favorite memory of mine because we had to pull somebody’s car out of the sand in the middle of the night with no lights and no shoes.”
As for myself, I am traveling to San Antonio for a couple of days and then from there going to Dallas, Texas to see my family. While on this trip I plan on finding inspiration for my art and making more memories.
All in all, no matter how different everyone is spending their spring break, we must all remember to not only have fun but to stay safe.
