If you are interested in helping and improving the Hispanic community, the applications for the Spanish Honor Society are open. Applications opened for new members and returning members on January 26 and will close on February 23.
In order to participate in this club, you have to have three Spanish credits or take Spanish AP in order to fit the requirements. Meetings for SHH are once a month and they take place at LFU. The sponsors for this club are Spanish teachers Mrs. Arato and Mrs. Garza. I am actually the treasurer of SHH, and as an officer I am able to say that SHH has been such a big part of my high school experience.
The Spanish Honor Society requires an SHH member to have 10 hours inside of SHH, and five hours outside. In addition, for a student to remain in the club they must not miss more than three meetings, and if they do they must have excused absences.
Sponsor Mrs. Arato detailed what makes the Spanish Honor Society so special.
“SHH is an organization that not only honors and prides itself in the Spanish culture and language ,but provides a gratified sense of community,” Arato said. “The importance of this club is to provide help to our local community and service opportunities to students.”
