Los Fresnos held its first “senior sunrise” on November 17, the last day of school before Thanksgiving break. This event was open to seniors and those who are early graduates at the school black top. The students who attended woke up extra early and were there from 6:15- 7:45.
This is a newer tradition at Los Frensos that started after the pandemic. The student council officers wanted an event that involves all the seniors in a safe place, thus the senior sunrise was created.
The senior sunrise represents the beginning and the end of high school. Meaning the sunrise and the sunset that will happen at the end of the school year.
During the sunrise, the students took pictures with friends and enjoyed each others company. There were clubs with frames to take pictures with and they were also given sweet bread while watching the sunrise.
The senior sunset to commemorate the end of the class of 2024’s high school career will be held at the end of the school year.
