On September 30th, 2023, the Los Fresnos United marching band won their first competition of the season at San Benito’s Marching Festival.
The San Benito Marching Festival helps the band get feedback and get prepared for further UIL competitions, such as Pigskin, that will determine if they make state for the year.
The band competed against nine other schools and won first place as a 6A school and first place overall.
The band will be competing at the San Benito Marching Festival all throughout October. The band will also be competing in several other competitions throughout the year.
Lillianna Ohm, a percussion player in the band, had positive things to say about the experience.
“These competitions really help our band improve and receive feedback,” said Ohm. “I hope we can progress further and improve our skills even more.”
We wish our band luck on their upcoming competitions and hope for more wins in the future!
