One of the most popular clubs at Los Fresnos High School year after year is the Rotary Interact. The club currently has over 200 students and is aimed at students who want to involve themselves in the community by volunteering with other students and staff on any projects or activities coming up in or out of school.
“This club is all about putting others above yourself,” junior service coordinator Katherine Farrar said.
Rotary Interact is a fun and exciting way for students to interact with not only their peers, but as well with the Los Fresnos community. This includes collaborating with other schools within the district or other districts from around the valley, different grade levels, staff members, and even other businesses from anywhere in the valley. This club runs throughout the school year so opportunities for volunteering are endless. For example, some of the upcoming activities for the month of October are listed below.
- Gladys Porter Zoo meeting.
- Fall Festival
- Trunk or Treat
- Rotary Bike Race
- Chalk the walk
These are only a few of the many chances you have to participate in the month of October, and many more are yet to come. However, this does not mean you have to attend all of the activities and/ or meetings. The Rotary Interact hopes to have many new participants this year and make it a memorable one.
Any student can join the Rotary Interact, however the only requirement is a due of $20 per person and you have the option of buying the club’s shirt if you would like.
