I think that we can all agree that one of the most talked about movies of this year was definitely “Barbie.”The movie was released  on July 21, 2023 and was anticipated by women all around the world. 

It is well known that Barbie has been a significant figure for a lot of women. Her image will continue to bring back childhood memories or even bring us comfort. Barbie has continued to inspire many women of all ages by reminding them that “you can be who you want to be.” This quote was able to influence many women around the world to follow their dreams and achieve their goals. 

When I went to see this movie, I went with my mom and my grandma. It was so heartwarming seeing their reactions to the dolls that were displayed on the screen, because some of them were the ones that they used to play with when they were younger. Seeing so many women come together to watch the movie was really uplifting, because I knew that we all reminisced about our Barbie-filled childhoods. 

A scene that made a lot of people start tearing up was where the director decided to include realistic videos of girls growing into women. This shared a special message because it truly captured the journey of womanhood. 

The Barbie movie holds a significant place in many women’s hearts due to the beautiful and feminist messages Barbie director Greta Gerwig included throughout the movie. One of the biggest examples was  the struggles of a woman in a patriarchal society.

After watching the movie, I realized that a lot of women felt a stronger connection to Barbie than ever. This was due to them seeing Barbie break down and interpret some of the experiences that come with being a woman.

Overall, The Barbie movie shows a woman’s life and universal experiences that make a woman stronger day by day even in struggling societies.
